Top-100 most outstanding Spanish wines selected in Holland

The competition, organised by ICEX and the Dutch trade magazine, Perswijn hosted 1,100 Spanish wine entries

The Spanish Foreign Trade Agency (ICEX), via Wines from Spain and with the collaboration of Dutch wine magazine, Perswijn, chose the Top-100 most outstanding Spanish wines available in Holland in what is the second edition of this competition, in which 1,100 Spanish wines took part. The wines were subject to a blind tasting by a jury made up of sommeliers, wine writers and trade professionals, who chose the winners from a wide range of different types of wines, reds, whites, rosés, sparkling wines, and sherries, all with a retail price of over €4.75.

As to the overall results, especially outstanding was the recognition given to two of the seven wines entered by DO Campo de Borja, the only appellation to win in more than one category, while QDO Rioja was the region which entered the most wines in the competition (170) followed by Ribera del Duero, Penedés, Rueda, and DO Navarra.
