This small estate was awarded Denomination of Origen status due to the efforts of its owner Manuel Manzaneque who established his winery in Bonillo, Castilla-La Mancha, the home of Don Quijote, over 20 years ago.
The winery is situated 1080 metres above sea level in the heart of the Sierra de Alcaráz where the cool mountain range breezes and individual micro-climate surrounding the estate create excellent conditions for grape growing.
This property was planted along the lines of the domaine concept well-known in France. The DO Finca Elez encompasses 40 hectares of vineyard and all of the varieties planted within it are of French origin, alongside a proportion of Tempranillo. The family’s aim being to prove the quality of wines that can be produced from this individual terrior.
