Vinícola Navarra, Fernando Remírez de Ganuza, Viñedos del Contino, Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri are the wineries of Navarra and La Rioja that were visited by the group of foreign journalists, in a trip recently organised by the ICEX, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs in Milan.
The Italian journalist Claudio Mollo explains in acquabuona (an Italian web focused on oenology and gastronomy) the details of the tour, first stopping in Vinícola Navarra, a winery established in 1860, under the oenological management of Luis Zudairé and with 4,500,000 bottles of production.
The following meeting point was in the Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri in La Rioja, property of Jaime Rodríguez Salis, who produces wines with tempranillo, graciano, garnacha and mazuelo. Those wines surprised the journalist because of their excellent structure, persistence and nuance richness. Remírez de Ganuza was also visited, a winery that “has played the leading role in the rediscovery of the quality wine tradition of the area”. It has 50 hectares of tempranillo and graciano, and vineyards up to 60 years old. The last stop of the route was Viñedos de Contino, property of Ricardo Pérez Villota and under the oenological management of Jesús Madrazo; the winery has 62 hectares of own vineyards that lie in a wide range of different lands. “A wide range”, says Mollo, “that allows us to produce wines of different styles, but united by the same elegance and a marked personality”.
