The world's largest airline company, American Airlines, and Bodegas As Laxas recently signed a contract to serve ‘Val do Sosego’ to the airline's first-class passengers. With this new agreement, Bodegas As Laxas adds to the US airline's wine selection, a long list that already boasts well-known and prestigious French, Italian, Californian and Chilean wines.

In February 2007, American Airlines' wine list was named "Best First Class Wine Cellar" in the Cellars in The Sky awards, organised by ‘Business Traveller’ and ‘Wine & Spirits’ magazines. This annual ceremony bestows awards on the wine selections made by airline companies from around the world and is affectionately known as "the airline wine Oscars".

‘Val do Sosego’, under DO Rías Baixas, is a 100 percent Albariño wine, tasty and well balanced. In recent years it has enjoyed great international success, on markets such as the US, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and even, Australia.

‘Wine Enthusiast' magazine described the wine as: “Clean and expressive up front, with floral aromas shaped by doses of grass, apple and pear. Tastes very good, with condensed fruit creating a nice mouthfeel. Very long on the back end”.

According to American Airlines' wine selection experts, this recent choice indicates that this wine has reached the level of quality necessary to form part of the most internationally awarded airline company wine list.

Bodegas As Laxas has been making wine since 1862. As well as ‘Val do Sosego’ it also makes and distributes the following Albariños; ‘Laxas’, ‘Bágoa do Miño’ and ‘Condado Laxas’, all under DO Rías Baixas.

American Arlines, makes more than 4,000 daily flights, connecting 250 cities in over 40 countries.
