This bodega is in the middle of an expansion process, though it is keen to retain its modest boutique bodega philosophy focused on making high quality wines with their strong and marked personality, defined by the prestige of the region where the bodega is located: Campo de Borja.
Along these same lines, a strict control is carried out on all of the vines, from the pruning process to the harvest, including exhaustive ripening and sanitary controls before the product enters the bodega.
The bodega’s medium- to long-term objectives are to strengthen its position as a prestigious bodega and to become a worldwide leader of Garnacha premium wines. A goal already confirmed by the ratings given to the 2005 vintage by some of the most prestigious US critics. ‘Aquilon’, ‘Alto Moncayo’ and ‘Veraton’ were all rated above 90 points by Jay Millar, associate to The Wine Advocate’s editor, Robert Parker. In effect, ‘Aquilon 2005’ was awarded 97 points; ‘Alto Moncayo 2005’, 95 points and ‘Veraton 2005’, 93 points.
