Nevertheless, ‘Alto Moncayo’ is the bodega’s flagship. Another Garnacha single-varietal, made from 40 to 65 year-old vines, and aged 20 months in new oak. It has a notable complexity in the nose, with black berries, balsamic and roasted aromas and a very good structure in the mouth.
And lastly, the bodega’s third wine, ‘Veraton’, is made from 30 to 65 year-old Garnacha vines, and is aged 16 months in new oak. A wine with an attractive range of balsamic, chocolate and black berry notes, very warm in the mouth and with an exceedingly pleasant finish.
Bodegas Alto Moncayo harvests approximately 90,000 to 100,000 kilograms of grape, with bottle production close to 90,000. Its market share is divided between 70 percent export and 30 percent domestic consumption. Its main customer is the United States where 80 percent of exports are sold, approximately 50,000 bottles.
